Use of hide in Native creations from animals like steer, deer, elk, and bison is integral to the Native belief that an animal’s spirit lives on in the hide.

Picture jasper is a landscape stone that's believed to help us find our place in the world. When we've stepped off the path or gone down a path we never intended, picture jasper is thought to give the time and space alone to sort through things. Picture Jasper encourages ecological awareness, bringing stability and balance. It contains a message and/or “picture” from the past. Picture Jasper is a stone of proportion and harmony and stimulates creative visualization. It helps to bring hidden thoughts and feelings - griefs, fears, guilt, envy, love, hope - to the surface, to be released. Brings comfort and alleviates fear.

Agate: Compared to other gemstones in the mineral kingdom, Agate crystal radiates a lower, more gentle frequency, which makes it an ideal piece for someone looking to slow down in life. Agate’s soothing and stress-relieving properties help you connect with the energy of the Earth by bringing harmony to your mind, body, and spirit. When you feel unbalanced, the Agate crystal meaning has soft vibrations that can recalibrate and realign you. By anchoring you to the Earth, the Agate crystal stone meaning can help boost your sense of balance and equilibrium. Agate helps you to breathe a little deeper and find your center so you can move through life with more grace and ease.

Native Innu referred to Labradorite as the 'fire stone' because of its inner beauty and resemblance to the greatest light show on earth, the Northern Lights. In Newfoundland and Labrador, the Innu tribes lived inland whilst the Inuit tribes lived along the coast, but because of the presence of Labradorite gemstones in the rocks beneath all of their feet, there was a widespread and mutual appreciation for its magical properties. The legend goes that an Inuit warrior discovered the astounding array of colours inside the gemstones and perceived them as the lights of the aurora trapped inside the rocks, so he gave them an almighty whack with his spear to free them to the skies in which they belonged. The light that remained on earth remained inside the Labradorite gemstones. With heavenly properties absorbed from the Northern Lights, Labradorite delivers the inner peace and tranquillity that many of us need to deal with the stresses of everyday life.
